Am booking QF J award to LAX, from SYD, which due to availability entails SYD-BNE-LAX.

QF offering up, from arrival BNE to departure BNE, connections starting at 80mins, then upwards in the half hour increments.

Whats a reasonable connection time from Dom to Int at BNE? Connecting to QF15, so it will be a weekday morning, albeit in school holidays....

Thanks!

I've done it on Virgin SYD-BNE-LAX and it was really easy, quick and painless. Bags were checked through to LAX in Sydney, then in BNE it was a quick hop on the terminal bus HLO and through immigration chop chop. HEAPS better than what I could have possibly faced at Syd-Int, I totally recommend (and 80 mins is plenty!)

As it is on the same carrier / ticket, there are few risks in any case. And if your bags are checked through (I assume they would be) then you only have to worry about yourself getting from one terminal to the other. On arrival in Brisbane you just have to get off the plane and get on the free shuttle bus - during the day they run every 10 minutes or so, and the "trip" is only about 5 minutes. Security / emigration departing Brisbane has been something I sincerely have never even thought about - have done it a million times but it is so fast it is a non-issue. 80 minutes is ample, (I would estimate that you would be in the international terminal and through security in about 35 minutes from door opening on your first flight), but maybe add just one of those "half hour increments" so you are truly relaxed, and can have a snack in the lounge?

Thanks, both, good to know, appears pretty seamless......might add the one 30min increment to keep the wife calm :)

I would leave at least 2 hours to be safe. Yes with 80 minutes you'd be protected but any delays may end up causing issues.

And the last thing I would want is to arrive at international when boarding has started.
