I will be on QR from Doha to Adelaide in June, leaving Doha at 8:55pm. I am deciding which flight to take from Europe to Doha. Currently the better options seem to be from CPH or BRU. I will be flying in from London on that morning, so need enough connection time at CPH or BRU. The flights I have looked arrive about 1 hour before the respective flights to Doha depart.

Does anyone have experience transferring at CPH or BRU, or any other suggestions? Thank you! (This is an AA award booking)

Hi,
I've travelled through both many time, I prefer CPH to BRU, better restaurants and shopping but YMMV. Two questions which jump to mind are:
1. how long is your connection at CPH & BRU? Am i reading it correctly that it is one hour?
2. what aircraft is it for CPH-DOH & BRU-DOH?

Cheers

Thanks for that. The connection times (on separate tickets) are BRU 60 mins, and CPH is 70mins.

Both flights have the 787.

Assuming that the first leg is on BA, then your flight should land at Pier B and depart to DOH from Pier B at BRU and both will be in Terminal 2 at CPH.

So, it appears that both should be fine to transit.

So that means you would have 3 separate tickets - BA LHR/CPH, QR CPH/DOH & QR DOH/ADL or can you book BA LHR/CPH & QR CPH/DOH on the same booking? BA are not renowned for their customer service so they may well give you grief if you ask them to through check your bag CPH/DOH & DOH/ADL.

I wouldn't leave myself only 60 mins in DOH if I had separate tickets because even though BA & QR are One World and should check though, a CSA doesn't know the rules and says no, you won't have time to checkin at DOH and will be up the creek. At T-60 QR want you at the gate in preparation for boarding - not disembarking an inbound flight, waiting for you bag then trying to checkin.

Sorry I was perhaps a little unclear. I will be on one ticket from CPH to ADE.

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I will just add my question to this one.I booked LHR - MUC on BA in Y, to connect to my MUC - ADE flight on QR in J. I have just realised that BA's baggage allowance is per piece now. So if I go over the 23kgs on BA, I'm guessing I will have to pay for a second piece? I don't think I will have a second piece, rather it is more likely to be 1 bag with approx 25-30kgs.Also, does anyone have experience with the IATA baggage allowance resolution in this kind of scenario?Any help or guidance will be most appreciated. I did email BA but received a generic baggage response from them. Thanks

Is LHR-MUC-DOH-ADL all on one ticket?

When BA check you in connecting to QR it should default to the QR 30kg allowance as they are the most significant carrier for the journey.

Yep, I rarely have much luck with BA wanting to through check bags to another OW carrier. One day I'll get them to call a supervisor over, but computer says no is their usual response to me...
And while CPH is a small airport, any snafu with through check of bag, or issuance of Qatar boarding pass would cause big dramas. Agree with a longer layover.
