It seems I am getting a bit confused with AirNZ's Velocity SC's and would appreciate if someone would mind putting me right :)

little background:

Booked our flights home from Port Moresby back to NZ the other week. (2 adults 3 kids). The wife and kids fly early in December to AKL and leave late in Jan, whereas I somehow luck out and get to fly by myself on the 20th Dec and back early Jan (win!). As this is part of my work package, we fly flexi, and I pool all the points and SC's to me with the objective by mid year to be Platinum. My wife's flight upgrades me to Gold for my flight, thanks to family pooling we knock over 400SC each trip..

I arrive in AKL - then we all fly to Dunedin via AirNZ for 7 days. I booked the Seat + Bag saver fare for all of us, which I have since found out is class: S. According to the Velocity Website (sorry, can't link under 10 posts) this doesn't qualify for pts, but it says nothing about SC's. Within the booking, it says that it is an Economy seat, which I take to be higher than discount (which earns) and lower than premium. So, do I earn anything at all?

What's even weirder, even this far out, I have been able to choose seating. At this stage I am still VS - but have been able to choose seating for all of us in the Space + area - effectively taking Row 5 there and Row 7 back. Our kids are 10, 7 and 2 - but extremely good flyers (flying into PNG turns kids into very patient flyers), in fact, less hassle than some people in the plane - but I guess I'll get the whole dirty look thing when we plonk up front.

I also get Koru Club for all (Koru Club doesn't treat the kids as guests) - so that's nice, but I most likely won't have my new card in time for my flight, is this just a case of them accepting the silly little printed one?

thanks
:)

AFAIK, in General, if you don't earn Velocity Points on a flight, you can't earn Velocity SC's either.
