just received my renewal notice from Coles Insurance and had expected them to jack the price up and make me jump ship - have changed insurance each year the last 5 years to get a better deal.

was surprised the quote was nearly the same as last year but decided to have a hunt around to see if I could get a better deal. Woolworths was the closes at $300 more expensive with quite a few nearly $500 more expensive.

The extra FB points prob saves me another $15 over the year.

I looked at Coles a while back and found some of the terms (such as flood cover) were not as good as some other insurers. I ought to look at them again though

Apartment-dwellers should note that Coles contents insurance does not include cover for temporary accommodation.

My understanding is that the building insurance may cover certain situations but not all, and that it is often capped (potentially at unsuitable levels depending on the policy).

In any event, it may be wiser not to be entirely reliant on it, considering the risks outside of individual residents' control (I know of body corporates that have allowed insurance to lapse), and particularly given that many (if not most) contents policies do include cover for temporary accommodation.
