Our Christmas dcir29sa is all tidied up ....save for one irritation.
We are (still) waitlisted for business and confirmed in economy for a LAN sector lim>scl.
I guess their load calcs tell them that they will sell all the seats as J .. so D's can sit down the back. It's a 767 with 30j and it seems like a thousand in Y
I have read some hair rasing stories about chaotic loading of cattle class in Lima, so of all the places we need to be in the business lounge and sitting up front , it is on this sector.
Having a dcir won't help with lounge access I surmise , because the piece of paper for this sector says economy.
Any ideas for solving the problem without throwing away bucketloads of money (LAN are currently asking 1500usd per perch one way in J)

Had this problem on a globalex we are about to undertake.I believe it is common on LAN.We wanted SCL-LIM.By trying every flight that day we found one that would accept D confirmed. Not the most convenient time but maybe that is why they had D availability.

Thanks ..must be murphys law... seat counter has 4d's the day before and the next day and .. and has J's only on our target day.

I guess I could ask for a D>J upgrade price.. but I don't think it will be pretty.

Alternatives are to fly the night before and arrive early in the Am into scl.. or just stand at the front of the crush , bulldoze my way to our mid plane economy seating , turf out any interlopers and hope for the best.. it is only 3 1/2 hours

Christmas time? Anything could happen.

I recently booked a DONE4 and managed to get D/A availability on all applicable flights, except for DFW-ANC...which just happens to be a 6.5hr flight, and has a 100SC difference between A and L class. :(

Luckily though, my ANC-DFW waitlisting came through...and that flight's in just over a month....so anything could happen between now and December!

Cheers,
- Febs.
