I have a couple of meetings to attend next year and Circle Pacific looks like an interesting way to do it .

I'm aware that buying and ticketing from some places is a lot cheaper than others (www.airtickets.com.au/Tariffs/qf1worldcpe-7889-01mar12-a.pdf), but not always easy to achieve.

I will also be in UK for a couple weeks early next year. Does anyone know what the fares are for DCIR if ticketed and bought from a UK agent??

thanks

cheaper still from HKG, but surely they can't be saying that you can only buy a DCIR from a country that is part of that routing..what happens to all the europeans who might want to book one, they have to fly to Pacific before they can buy? hence my question...

Given this published rules regarding ticket sales restrictions:
When travel originates in a country for which a specific local currency fares is published and the ticket is sold in another country, the fare will be that published for the country of origin converted to the currency of the country of sale at the bank selling rate. The resultant fare must not be lower than from the country of sale.
and the fact that since there is no published fare ex-UK, I would expect you will pay the published fare for the country of origin converted to GBP. But of course its best to check with a travel agent first ;)

Hey, wondering if anyone has an update on a related issue.

I have just obtained my record locators through AA and now need to actually ticket the fare. It is getting priced in HKD, ex HKG. Can I call AA to ticket, or do I need to find someone in HKG to actually pay, such as a CX office?

I'm also very interested in finding someone reliable to book this fare ex HKG! Hope someone can help...

I'll be attempting booking this week, so I will let you know how I go. Will try AA HKG on Wednesday, then AARTW on Thurs AM if that fails.

Amazing that the hardest part of these fares is trying to find someone to take your money.

I just bought an ACIR26 ex HKG from a very well-known Australian-based travel agency operating in HKG without any problems, at a very keen price. Started at their HKG website and filled in their enquiry form, to which they responded within minutes - doing it all by email.

Would be very interested to have their details, if you could put here or send it to me in a PM. Thanks!

For the record, I have booked and ticketed now.

Called AA RTW Desk Mon AM Per time.
Given record locator.
Priced by Wed AM- ~52000HKD
Emailed AA HKG Thurs on: aaresATwalshegroupDOTcom
Ticketed Thurs PM.

Very simple and essentially booked direct through AA this way, or their HKG agent. DCIR26 for 7.2K AUD all in.

Do you mean 52,000HKD? Or the surcharges and fees bring the fare from 25K to 52K?

Awesome, thanks for reporting back.
What is the routing if you don't mind me asking?
Did they charge the fuel surcharge? There was a recent uproar with the revelation that AA would start to charge said surcharge for revenue tickets only which was not previously done.

I think HKG has the best base fare, and is easy to book to boot.
I am uncertain if there was a fuel surcharge, but it could be calculated from the base fare and my total I guess.
Routing is HKG-YVR-DFW-MIA-LAX-SYD-PER-SIN-HKG.

Bear in mind that 2 class AA flights book into first on this fare too, but it is limited in distance and in stopovers.

According to EF the fare for DCIR26 xHKG is 6646 AUD, so I assume $600 or so in fees (airport tax, 9/11 security, etc...) I like your routing 25185 miles out of 26000! That's great!

Hi folks - looking for some general advice for a first time multi-continent fare seeker. I'm seeking advice on routing, ticketing, etc. I've read through several RTW forums, but I'm after some circle-Pacific-specific advice.

Me: Based in Melbourne, AA Plat/OWS, QF Silver/OWR. Looking to book in Y although if I can upgrade on QF/AA hardware I will (have about 175k points in each).

Having just finished my Christmas holiday, I'm desperate to go ahead and book the next one. In-laws in the US, and asking us to join them in Belize this Christmas/NYE period. So I have fairly modest requirements in terms of flight complexity, but I'd like to maximize my return.

So at first glance I'm looking at something like MEL-LAX-CMH... (land segment)... CVG-DFW/MIA-BZE... from there I'd just like to get back to MEL and don't really care how or what route, although it seems my only real options are back through LAX (not sure if that's allowed) or through SCL. If I could squeeze in the elusive trip to Easter Island (IPC) I wouldn't complain.

This would be traveling at peak time too... early Dec through early Jan.

Thanks, in advance, for any wisdom you can share.
