HI All, Today I received an email 'congratulations you have been chosen to represent 55 -60 year olds from Qantas FF. If I participate in Surveys allegedly about their Service, I receive FF points each time - has any one else received this? Feels like an exercise in getting my data, but the fine points say that they do not share data. What do you think?

Is there an error message when you try to book something on the QF website, perhaps via a link in the email?

i didn’t think it was just about their service. I think the site (red planet) will send you all sorts of surveys and then you will get a few points. I registered, but not sure if I will fill in any surveys , depends what they are, how bored I am and how annoying it becomes.

Same email chosen to represent the 45-54 year olds. Signed up to give Red Planet a go.

I also got the email and wonder about the amount of information they need to proceed.

Are they paying enough for what they get?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

This is a QF Fail.
Just another way that QF is trying to datamine for their purposes.
What I want to know is what relationship QF has with Red planet and what are they going to do with the mined information.

Red Planet calls themselves a "community" website giving the impression that its mutual, free, and for the benefit of its members. Haha. So is Facebook.

I've just turned 55 and it was very sad getting that email with that age grouping through to 60 in black and white ;)

So why do I need to give all my details again?
This may not be a bad thing.

The information about me that Qantas holds is for the purpose of facilitating my travel by air and also for recording my points.

The fact that a separate Qantas project needs to be given the information again means that that project does not have access to data provided for an altogether different purpose.
