Hello.

I am travelling LHR>JFK next January on a BA flight in business class. I've just discovered seat selection will cost me £65 outside of the 24 hour check-in timeframe.

My flight leaves at 1pm so I don't really need to sleep...well, unless I need to catch up. :) I see from the seat plans there are backwards facing seats, and while I've never sat in one, I'm not opposed to them in theory.

I am erring on the side of not paying but wanted to ask if there are seats that are worth paying for.

Thanks, pw.

which aircraft are you flying on? If 747 I personally would go for 62A or K or 64A or K but have been on both upper deck, lower deck, front facing and back facing and so far have always enjoyed the trip

Yes, it's a 747.

I just did a dummy booking for seat selection and to select upper deck seats, it costs more - £80. Talk about money for jam!

In that case you could also just wait for OLCI to open and try to be the first to get in, otherways there are heaps of rear facing seats on the LD too, good thing about the UD is that you get the storage locker next to you.
