Hi,

I booked a return business to SIN from SYD on CX. As I have calculated that I would have enough SC to upgrade to QF platinum this year by just flying from SIN to SYD (on the return leg), can I ask for using CX Green status on flying out to SIN and earn better CX miles SC points on CX. Then, on the return flight, ask to be put back on QF Gold status to get the extra baggage allowance (55Kg) and also earn the QF points and SC to upgrade to Platinum?

Thanks

Another option would be to flip it and fly up to Singapore with QF number, then on the way back you can enjoy the first class lounges in Hong Kong!

Considering CX Green is virtually a nothing status, why not use your QF on both legs and enjoy the perks? Will you hit any meaningful status with CX this year?

Edit: Nevermind - missed you were flying in business so you'll already get the equivalent OWS perks. Still, I'd be aiming to hit OWE on your trip to Sydney so you can use the F lounges in SYD and HKG as @calmelb alluded to.

Edit the frequent flyer preferred for each leg during OLCI

Often have to claim 1 leg CX and 1 leg QFF in Y as QFF awards no points or status on bookings below V class
