I'm on SYD-AKL-LAX-DFW-ORD-DFW-SYD in June. As a WP I was automatically allocated :

23J on QF141 SYD-AKL (14/6/2011)
23B on QF025 AKL-LAX (14/6/2011
9C on QF3202, LAX-DFW (14/6/2011)
9D on QF4439 DFW-ORD (17/6/2011
9D on QF4442 ORD-DFW (10/9/2011)
37B on QF008 DFW-SYD (10/9/2011)

Most seats on these flights are still available. Are these automatically allocated seats the best option for me? I wish, I could upgrade my seats but they are all class O or L.

Any better seats I should choose?

Thanks

You can log in to manage your booking on the QF website, or give the Platinum members desk a call to assign you a different seat.
Check out www.seatguru.com for a guide.

Thanks Blackadder for the link to seatguru.com. It gave me a very good idea about the seating configuration of my flights.

These flight would be on AA metal. There should be a SABRE PNR that may show on www.checkmytrip.com .

You might be able to use the SABRE PNR to check seating on AA.com, or by calling.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

If they have a QF number can still select the seat via the QF website.
This is very unreliable and I would not trust it. AA's SABRE view of a flight can be very different from the Qantas' Amadeus view of the same flight.

This. AA seats never confirm via QF.

Grab the AA ref then select via aa.com (always a better selection of seats)
