Is it possible to have our baggage checked straight through, if we are traveling with two completely separate tickets?

(Redemption) Per-Sin-Lhr with Singapore air and (Paid) Lhr-Ork with Aer Lingus. I believe there are no affiliations between them?

We have three hours in Lhr to collect and re-check in, but would be great if it could be hassle free.

By all means ask. They are not in the same alliance, though it is possible they do have an interline agreement. But in general these days, carriers aren't willing to check luggage through onto other carriers when the passenger is on different tickets. (This is because the carrier who checks it in is responsible for anything that goes wrong with it anywhere en route).
