Check in flying SYD-MEL-LHR

Hi all

Just a quick one - if flying SYD-MEL-LHR on QF from the DOM terminal in SYD is there an international connections check in desk still? I haven't done this for a while and have a trip coming up.

No - just go to the counters on the far left. Any of them can do international.

Qantas has changed my ticket and am now doing the DRW-SYD a day earlier and have since been booked into free accomodation. (Interesting to note also that Chauffeur drive allows a booking for both arrival and departure from sydney)

Question, will QF ticket me on all legs and keep my bags?

Or will they ticket and check my bags to SYD, only to have to reticket in SYD, through to FCO?

You will have to collect your bags in SYD as you are overnighting. You will then check in at SYD domestic and they will tag/issue boarding passes for SYD-x/MEL-x/DXB-x/LHR-FCO.

For the bright yellow F tags, no, for the non-discriptive micro print on the tags, yes IME. Can't recall if there was any issue with priority baggage, so probably not a problem.

Worst baggage experience was when flying in F SIN-SYD last year and F bags came out after ALL Y bags. Not impressed, and that was with the bright yellow tag, so YMMV...

Yep as he said.

No bus which is good is good when doing the transfer from DOm to INT and vice versa.

Hmm. Both are similar. Mel is just more personal and smaller.
