I have a weekend in Tokyo, New York and London and was wondering which one would I most likely be able to do a cheap SC run. One that might take a day of travel.
Any ideas?
Thx

Perhaps check the UK version of the BA web site and look for lowest cost club europe/club world flights. One year I managed to go to Malta return on discount restricted Club (their business class) very very cheaply and earned business levels status credits into my QF FF account. I don't know if good deals can be had on longer routes (eg DXB or MCT return) - most European routes are rather short.

Thanks Platy - I certainly will.

From what others have posted if in the US...but I have not done.

Flying First Class on AA as it gains FC SC, but it is not really first class and costs considerably less. So first class earn on the cheap.

Very true. Although these KUPP etc fares sounds quite good..

My idea is you could relax in any of those fine cities and forget about the SC chase. Is it so important you can sit in a Flounge as opposed to a business one - I presume the purpose of the run??? Anyway,

to answer your question the JAL F fares are very reasonable domestically and ok earning depending on your program.

It is true that the USA yields the better $/SC ratio but unfortunately not from New York airports JFK/EWR/LGA. Overall the YUPs/QUPs/KUPs have been harder to find recently.

I have not looked recently but was contemplating some status runs from LHR/LGW last August during my RTW. The best yielding status runs appeared to be to OSL, ARN, CPH. The cost was ~$500 and each return earning 120 SCs. The A$ is stronger against the £ now and I am not sure is the D class specials are still available on the BA website. Just be aware though that even though you are in business class it is really only an economy seat with a little extra room.

As for YUPP's there not a lot of good value available from East Coast USA.

However, yesterday I saw a reasonable opportunity ex NYC: EWR-DFW-SEA r/t, 480 SC's for USD1160.

There' a lot better value to be had from certain West Coast ports.
