I am base in Sydney and frequent to Taiwan.

EX-TPE QF J fare is very cheap compare EX-SYD.

For I class TPE-HKG-SYD CX+QF year ticekt after tax is AUD2600
D class is AUD3000

HKG-TPE just 90mins trip it worth doing one more segment from Taiwan.

Thanks for the tip!

Would you happen to know if this fare can be sold/ticketed outside Taiwan?

There are similarly priced fares ex-MNL but they have to be ticketed in the Phillippines.

Cheers. :)

I have used the one way fares EX TPE a few times.

I have been able tog et TPE-HKG (CX) and HKG-SYD with CX/QF/VS for $1800 AUD or $2200 with QF in F on the HKG-SYD leg.

Malaysian airlines also have some <$2k AUD return fares ex SGN.... as well as some pretty decent return fares ex SGN to London for around $2500 all up in J.

Asia tends to have some good fares, so if going to Europe, it canbe cheaper to fly say JQ star class to Asia and pick up J from there.

:p I've been keeping my eye on those Malaysia fares to Europe ex SGN, at around USD1800 RTN they're a steal. Would be even better if the dollar was a bit stronger. . .

Also noticed Dublin ex MNL for AUD3000 with Etihad J class next year. Very tempting= just need to get Christmas out of the way.

Nice to know, living in Aisa i love to know the specials, to get to MNL from SIN is very cheap, TPE is more but still can be done cheapish.

Hmmm,, i wonder if i look at Etihad J, i swore i would never do it but it is nice and cheap and i need to be in Ireland middle of next year.... hmmmm, i will have to think about that one.

Hi

Thanks for the scoop on the fares ex TPE - but where do I find them? I have picked a couple of dates in Feb, returning a month later and can't seem to find anything under AUD4899 on QF.

I was using bestflights and also the QF website (the latter which was only pricing direct flights on EVA Air to BNE and then onwards).

With thanks

Those deep discount ex TPE fare only can find in local travel agency, and have to be ticketed in Taiwan.

I just quick check the fare to MEL in Feb

CX D class 6 months return and QF I class year return are same price.
60000NT include tax convert to 2700AUD.

Maybe you can call QF or CX local office. They can issude ticket as well.
