H,,,, they look ok. Had some TLC after a recall announced by Intel earlier this year, involving the replacement of the Mother boards.

We have had HP notebooks at work for three years now and I am not a big fan, to the point where I did a deal to supply my own. Like everything in life you get what you pay for, I was lucky enough to score a Lenovo X220 recently which gives me 9 hours batter with WIFI and 3G turned on, MS Office, Core 5 and 6Gb RAM/250Gb HDD for $1400 which will do me for travelling for the next year with pretty much instant on and very little weight. Much cheaper in the states with Price USA you can get it around $750-800 without office etc but that is life!

I think one of the things people have to look at when buying a notebook/laptop/computer is the after sale service if something goes wrong. I bought an hp late last year - the model that I bought I discovered later had been withdrawn in the US but they were selling it to unsuspecting Australians. The back up service was abysmal and my laptop wasn't even a month old - from memory an HP Pavilion. After much research I discovered that after sale service by HP rated as one of the worst with Apple as one of the best.

I realise that this isn't what this thread is about but just thought I would make this comment. I think anyone buying any sort of 'tech' device should make sure that the brand is reliable and well supported.

My dad has a HP laptop only for 2 years and has coughped out. So he's going back to His old lenovo.
