I suspect the answer is no way, but here's my problem:

3 kids flying return to Europe. I'm flying with them on the way up, my wife will be bringing them home.

I think my only options are:
- 3 return tickets for the kids and one-ways for me and my wife (a bit messy as two booking refs in each direction)
- 4 oneways there, 4 oneways back

What I'd "like" to do is
- 4 return flights, changing return segment for the adult to my wife's name..

Is there any way to do this, or am I stuck with the two options I know will work?

Thanks

Which airlines are you flying?

I don't see any reason as to why you can't book the return tickets for you children as a group, with you and your wife having separate return tickets. Contact your airline to tell them that you are traveling together and they should be able to link the bookings

Thanks for the reply, my wife and I are actually using points for business class in the direction we don't have the kids, hence the desire to "share" the one return ticket rather than using two tickets. I'm really just trying to have my cake and eat it too, as my WP will get us good seats (haven't chosen the airline, but will probably be QF/EK possibly with a mixture of other OW airlines.

Most int'l airlines do not permit name changes on bookings once booked. You would have to research carefully to find one, if in fact they exist.

And in this case, I will have travelled on the outbound portion of the ticket before the name change. I guess I already knew I was dreaming :)

You were correct in your opening post..no way.

No airline on earth would allow it, they're a pain enough to deal with when it comes to amending one or two letters on a ticket prior to departure, changing an entire name on a ticket is another matter entirely.
