Changing Flights on Qantas.com

Hello All,

When Accessing a Booking, made via Travel-Agent, on the Qantas Website - you have to contact the agent directly rather than using the website.

Is it possible to access this page within say 48/24 hours prior to the flights' departure on Qantas.com, if my travel plans change, and actually change the flight on the QF site?

Hi Josh, not in my experience. Both times myself and a colleague needed to move to an earlier flight the day of the scheduled flight we had to contact the agent to arrange this. This was most recently in mid-August, for domestic flights.

Thanks for the reply. I wonder if you could just contact Qantas Customer Service Reps? Within a short period prior to the flights schedule departure....
 
I did so in my case but it couldn't be done. I fell ill whilst away at a conference and rang QF customer service the morning of the flight to see if I could get on an earlier flight and they said no, I must ring the agent to change it. I called about 10 hrs before the flight.

Noticed you added it is an international flight, others may have a different experience in this case.

My work TA books my flights for me, usually when i hover over the change flight button it says "call your travel agent", I noticed last night when i was checking my booking for today, that I could actually click the change button & select new flights, this was when check in online was available (T-24)

I have never noticed this before, so not sure if its a glitch, or on purpose to make it simple to do a flight change, say if your sick or something & need to change your flight.
 
Very interesting danny09. I wonder if this is for QF flights only? Mine was a QantasLink flight which mostly behaves like Qantas flights with regard to check-in and sometimes is not like Qantas (e.g. seat selection before 24 hrs).
 
Wouldn't be a mistake fare?

I know QANTAS are very push back to the source
 
I do a lot of bookings for government non-staff travellers and if I book via phone with QBT they usually ask if the traveller is allowed to make changes. If I say that changes have to come through me, they are not able to do anything themselves either online or by ringing QBT. Online through Amadeus does not give me that option though. Could be worth checking with the TA who does you bookings if they have something similar.
