Hi All,

Just wondering whether anyone else has experienced this and can provide any solutions (if any).

I have a few QF BNE-AKL-BNE legs coming up, and I have chosen to upgrade two of them from Y to J to take advantage of the current sales fare. For whatever reason the QF website would not let me change the booking so I had to call to make the changes (phone booking fees waived).

The changes were apparently and on 'Manage my Booking' it shows the flights as 'confirmed' in the new date and class (I), I am able to select a seat in J etc.. However, I have not received an updated itinerary as promised over the phone, and when I choose to resend a tax invoice through 'Manage my Booking' it still shows the original booking date and class.

My credit card has not been charged for the change.

Should I be worried and call them back to chase it up, or will the bookings go through eventually. I would prefer not to arrive at the airport for them to tell me that my booking is incomplete and that I cannot fly.

thanks for the help!

It's probably in a queue for processing, you can chase it up by phone to get it pushed along.

Thanks for the reply, one of these is for travel in December and the request was put through the last time it was on sale, around June if IIRC.

Most likely not reissued. use checkmytrip.com to confirm if new ticket number has been assigned.

The helper elves can get this fixed via twitter to avoid the call. I was in the same boat a few weeks ago.

Someone here said that all international tickets have to be eyeballed by a ticketing person before being issued (hence the delay?)

Yes I am still waiting for a change I made to an international ticket 3 weeks ago to be ticketed and points and money taken.

I had the same issue with a FF booking I upgraded to Business - points weren't taken off, booking looked OK but when I asked to get it emailed it still had the old booking. I rang and they finalised the change and everything reflects the correct booking now.

It has only taken four phone calls to finally get my latest domestic booking ticketed (from a gift voucher). None of the ticketing targets set by QF were met.

I would of thought that taking my money would be one of the highest priorities for QF. Every booking I have made recently has needed my intervention to ticket.

Several months ago I had to ring to change an online purchased Red-e deal with a J class upgrade confirmed. Was able to change to another date and retain the upgrade, fantastic. Was told at the time I would need to pay a service fee and change fee. I agreed to both and the ticket was put in for a reissue. There was several months between the change and new travel dates and I completely forgot to check for the new email with the reissued ticket number.

Months later I went to check in and bingo "check-in not available please see service staff". Only then did I remember I hadn't received the new ticket. Luckily after the supervisor at the airport spent ages trying to work out what had happen the ticket was reissued and despite my credit card details being in the booking, both the service fee and change fee were waived due to the inconvenience. Most impressed with this service from the Qantas ground staff. They took control of the situation and sorted it out as quickly as possible.

Thanks Qantas

There's definitely a bug with gift vouchers, I've had to call the last five times I've booked using one.

I guess because vouchers are essentially changing a booking; the booking (PNR) exists and is changed when you add flights to it.

But it never gets ticketed. I think when the voucher is issued it has a dummy ticket number associated with it; redeeming the voucher is meant to remove that so a real ticket can be issued but the Qantas IT department made sure that doesn't work properly.

I believe only the PNR is generated when you purchase a voucher and this appears in CheckMyTrip as a dummy booking for QZW-QZY (operated by a Boeing 747SR no less!). There is no e-ticket number until you have redeemed the voucher against actual flights, which you can then double-check in CheckMyTrip. The PNR stays the same.

Mine showed a ticket number even before the PDF was issued. Weirdly, a flight change at their end has caused the PDF/eticket to be issued without me needing to call.
