Change seats after OLCI with VA?

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but a search of the forum gives me no joy.

I've only recently started flying domestically regularly with VA, previously most of my flying has been with QF.

I have a flight tomorrow, which I checked in for yesterday. Today I decided to change seats (pay for exit row) and I can't find how to do so.

With QA, I could change seats right up until 30 minutes before boarding, even after I had checked in.

Is this not an option with VA?

Nope. You have to change at the lounge or the check in desk

Not possible to change once checked in but you can call VA and ask them to uncheck you from the flight and they will happily do it. Then you change seats.
