Does anyone know if Marco Polo Gold members have access to exit row seats at the time of booking economy fares?.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Although my experiences have been somewhat limited on CX Y, how it worked for me was that at the time when you purchase the tickets, the exit row seats are not available as DM (I'm talking about the real designated 'preferred' seats on row 59 and not on row 39, referring to the A330 here)

However once the booking has been paid for and you can manage it online, I have been able to select seats from the designated exit row, although not all of them were available.

Similar situation with PE seats as well where row 30 wasn't available at the time of booking but once booked, manage my booking allowed me to select 30A/30K.

If an exit row is free I can usually snag it prior to my booking being confirmed (through work TA) via manage my booking - or row 39 on the 33G which is better than an exit row.

It can be temperamental though so be prepared to make a call to MPC and request they assign it for you.

My experience with CX on the 33G was that row 39 is pretty much always available even before ticketing. I'm fairly certain if an individual books online, the row 39s can be grabbed during the booking process (providing that the fair class allows you to choose seats in advance) even without logging into AM/MPO.

I always find this a bit weird though. The seats on row 39 seem to be much better than the 59s.
