G'day, long time away from here! Anyway, in September flying Syd-HKG-LHR on Cathay, in Business Class, aircraft 77W. Coming back in November, 77W out of LHR and A333 out of HK to Syd.

Is the seating on both aircraft the same, in so far as room goes? Have the following seats: CX138/15K, C257/12K, C238/15K, CX161/12A

Any reports on those allocated seats?:?:

Same seat. Same amount of space. Only thing I would do is try and allocate on the forward cabin for less potential noise from the back.

CX have what I believe to be the worlds best business product and every seat is a winner.

Enjoy your trip!

Same seat design. I think 77W cabin is a touch more spacious because the plane is slightly wider? Theyre all great seats. 20K is my favourite on the 333. Love that little cocoon.

pitch and seat design is the same but the 77W is less 'steep' on the angle of the seat and the bed due to the spacing due to the wider cabin, feels quite a bit roomier than the 33G.

i like the front row window seats on the 33G as there is a large locker in front of them before the galley so all the pax are behind you, if travelling with a companion take the middle pairs a few rows further back in the cabin

for the 77W depending on the config (3class or 4class) there are mini cabins at the front or rear of J that are preferable for fewer pax - seat guru can give you an idea to compare against the seat map in your booking

My views: on the A330 15K is a good seat - middle to rear of the cabin is best - less foot traffic, less galley noise, and a greater sense of space (you don't have the bulkhead too close). It's usually a good idea to avoid the second mini-cabin unless you know the flight is reasonably full... otherwise you may get moved if the cabin is closed off (and the remaining choice of seats might be limited).

I agree the mini-cabin is the place to be in the 77W (immediately behind First class). If the 777 is three class only (no F), again I'd move to about mid cabin to avoid the bulk of foot traffic.

Are you travelling solo? I had 14K on the 333 and 11A on the 77W. Really enjoyed both seats. If you are travelling with someone else though, I wouldn't pick row 11 middle seats on the 77W. The forward curtain opens directly into that middle row.
