Hi everyone

There has been some discussion about the Hong Kong Government no longer limiting the carrier charges that can be charged out of HKG.

With this in mind I recalled that the Phillipines did not allow carrier charges for flights leaving there (correct me if I am wrong on this).

So as a test I put in a search for Manila to London. The results came back with a flight on Cathay to Hong Kong and then Cathay to London but with taxes and carrier charges of 7012 Php which is about $A182.

Are Qantas able to charge carrier charges out of this port?

Thanks Peter

They are (since Sep I think it was), however the amount they can charge is still regulated by the government based on the moving average of jet fuel.
