A quick credit card rental vehicle insurance cover question. Specifically relating to the Singapore Airlines Westpac Platinum credit card and Europcar.
(Background: I do not have car as I live quite close to the Sydney CBD, but would like to rent a car on the weekends to visit friends etc. Will only be in Sydney for the next 2 years and hence do not wish to purchase a car at this time)
I will be renting a car between 20 -25 times a year at this stage and need some clarification on the insurance coverage. I will call Singapore Airlines Westpac Platinum credit card customer services, but thought I would ask this question on the forum before doing so.
Simply will my creditcard cover me if I had an accident? I read it is that I would be covered up to $5,500 from Amex if I had an accident, but do I need to include any of the other additional insurance cover options from Europcar to ensure that Westpac will payout?
I am a bit of a novice when it comes to insurance I am afraid!

Administration Fee
GST included except on liability fees
Price excludes:
LOSS DAMAGE WAIVER. Your Damage Liability is reduced to the amount shown in the Rental Agreement but it does not include WWI. Please call our reservations team to determine the exact amount your liability will be reduced to 53.82 AUD per rental
Covers damage to windscreen, lights, and tyres for normal use (WWI) 18.22 AUD per rental
Peace of Mind - Your Damage Liability Fee is reduced to the amount shown on the Rental Agreement and it includes WWI (POM) Please call our reservations team to determine the exact amount your liability will be reduced to 64.16 AUD per rental
SUPER PEACE OF MIND - Our premium cover, which reduces your Damage Liability Fee liability to nil 75.14 AUD per rental
