6000 QF per person
You will get back taxes-whether you gain or lose will depend on fx rates

Not sure if it is a QF Plat benefit or not, when I recently cancelled a Osl-Lhr-Mus-Doh-Syd J award, I asked Qf to expedite my points refund as I wanted to make another booking, was then put on hold whilst the agent made a call...when she came back, she asked me to refresh my screen and lo behold all my points were back in my account minus 6000 pts....the taxes got refunded a week later....pretty good service!

On the other hand, I had to wait six and eight weeks and make multiple calls for my most two most recent cancellations. (Both ex BKK)

I may know a Platinum who was not charged a change fee to change an award ticket and one time was not charged an award cancellation fee either.

It all depends on who you speak to but I suspect the chances of that happening again would be very low with the new call centre arrangements.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

This has happened to me also, but only prior to ticketing.

Last time I cancelled a reward booking, I was only QF gold, points were back in my account minus fee at the time (5000) within seconds. As suggested , refresh and they were there. Tax refund took 4 or 5 business days, if I recall correctly.

Refunds from overseas can take time. Apparently because they have to make sure the local office has refunded the $$ before the points can go back. I had an ex HKG booking there for about three weeks before the HKG office got around to processing the $$ component. The points were back almost instantly after that.

For about the first 15 years of my QFF membership I was not assesed any such fee, even after they were introduced.

Things all changed about 6 years ago, but in rare cases YMMV for a WP on any given day.

I guess that's gunna be rarer ...

I am doing other things simultaneously of course. This is not an issue that can be adequately handled by text chat as what they actually specifically ask for on the stat dec changes with each iteration. I feel like I'm standing up for the people who cannot easily get a stat dec. At this point a cheque is looking attractive. I suppose a credit voucher is an option but I can't control that. Now waiting for a call back from a manager.

One of my flight times had changed so I didn’t have to pay a cancellation fee.
