Have quite a few Australian outgoing passenger cards (the green one) design date is 2009. Looking online the design has changed earlier this year.. Can I continue to use up the older ones? Or will I be pulled up at immigration and asked to fill out a newer one?

Cheers gogo.

What's the change - I regularly have one prefilled from my "stash" before I even get to the airport.

You will need to use the current one.

+1.

I had a stack of old ones around the time of the changeover but my TA sent me new ones as they had been advised the old ones were not to be used.

Cue arriving for outbound immigration and a ton of (cranky) people scrabbling new forms at the back of the hall.

Cue me (and mrsdoc) sailing through....

I've got a stack of outgoing and incoming cards....I like to fill them in prior (home or hotel):) Not sure what has changed with the outgoing cards but the incoming ones did change a few months back (?1 year) regarding the food that needs to be declared, and the term "illegal coughography' not used instaed of "coughography"

What I'm annoyed about is. I was checking in at Mel QF domestic last week to fly to Perth. The outgoing passenger cards were on the check in counter so I grabbed a nice handful knowing that they had recently changed and I should grab some new ones. Get home to Perth, look at them and realize they are all 2009 ones!!

Redroo you might want to get someone to check all the piles of the cards in domestic terminal!

The format has changed around quite a bit with the signature panel now on the back with the $10k question

I've heard that if you have the old ARRIVAL (Yellow) cards which state the old cigarette allowance (was 250 now 50?)... Customs may not penalize you for non-compliance (provided its still under 250 and not half a pallet-load)?

Not a smoker myself, but curious to know if it works?

It's been well over a year since the change so I doubt it!

Outgoing cards - you can still the older cards (post about 2007) as the questions are the same, just a different format.
Incoming cards - you must use the new cards (easiest way to tell if its a new card is the tobacco question ie; 50 gram/sticks = new, 250 gram/sticks = old) EK often hand out old cards during the flight.

Confirmed. mrs eric used one on Sat after plundering my office desk for the pile I have kept there for the past 3 or 4 years
