I'm flying MEL-SIN-FRA on SQ with a tight connection onward on LH FRA-TLS (Toulouse); both booked online via the aairlines' websites, so separate PNRs. I plan to have only hand luggage but will be leaving home too early to check in online for the LH flight. Is there any way for me to check in and get my boarding pass for the LH flight during my short stopover in Changi?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Do you have lounge access? You should be able to check-in online for the LH flight during your transit in SIN and print boarding pass.

I'm not sure if there are any printing facilities outside of the lounges.

No lounge access unnless I take out a Prority Pass membership just for this purpose, or found a pay-per-vist lounge with computer and printing facilities. I have used the free access computer in the airport in the past, but I don't think you can print from them. Will be departing from T3 at Changi. Was sort of hoping there would be a LH desk open for transit passengers but it will be quite late on a Sunday evening. [I'm KF Silver but no status, travelling Premium Economy.]

Does LH have a flight out of SIN at the time? I'm not sure the transfer desks can print boarding passes for flights from other airports unless the flights were were part of current itinerary out of SIN.

Ugh! Can't get the quote function to work.

The Jolly Taxpayer: If correct, that would be great, but I'm not confident, as it is definitely two PNRs.

JohnK: Great thinking; I think that's my best bet. There is in fact a Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt that leaves just 15 minutes earlier than the SQ one. LH will surely have some office open for the use of passengers on their flight. I originally tried to book on that one as it wouuld have given just that little bit of extra time to make the connection in FRA, but I couldn't do it through SQ. Had to be on their own metal, not a codeshare, because it was a destination change from CDG to FRA.

While you are in SIN consider using the LH Phone app for online checkin. Use the terminal's free wifi.

Looks like don't even need to downlaod an app, just use this mobile friendly page : https://mobile.lufthansa.com/rs/ckj/ident?l=en

Many thanks, Albatross710: that seems like a good idea. Thanks for the link. But I suspect I'll still need a physical boarding pass, and I don't think you can print anything from those free computers.

Depending how long you have in SIN there is a Business Center at the Transit Hotel (airside, Mezzanine level) in T3

Harilela Hospitality

I'm guessing you depart from T3 and have about 2 hours or so transit?

If you have a longer transit the Lufthansa transit desk is in T2.

It looks like the Lufthansa mobile boarding pass option will work for you. http://www.lufthansa.com/us/en/Mobile-Boarding-Pass-available-on-many-routes-worldwide

My reading of that link is that you can check in with your phone, get your boarding pass on your phone, and not have to print anything out. And it is supported for the route that you are flying (FRA-TLS). I'm in exactly the same boat with an upcoming SQ SYD-SIN-FRA, LH FRA-MSQ flights on separate itineraries. So I am keen to see if this works :)

Also when you say you time between itineraries is tight, how much time do you have? All those flights should be terminal 1 at FRA as they are star alliance. I have 3 hours and no luggage, which I'm hoping is ok

Hey @adamphosho and @cgichard how did it work out for you? I am travelling SYD to SIN via Singapore Airlines and then SIN to FRA via Lufthansa. I saw a few cases in other forums where Singapore Airlines was kind enough to check in baggages straight to the final destination and print out boarding passes for LH - but it would be good to hear from someone who went through it recently. My other caveat is that my passport will expire in 5 1/2 months... so I really would need to be in transit to avoid going through immigration in Singapore ;)

In the end I moved both my MEL-SIN and SIN-FRA flights ealier and booked into a hotel at FRA for that night, so no problems with the FRA-TLS flight the next morning. I was travelling with HLO.

It was on the way back that I had problems. See my post at #5 on the Handling a missed flight situation thread.

For future reference, you could have checked in at the same time in MEL with SIA, and even had any bags checked through to TLS. You would have received all boarding passes.
