Hi, husband and I along with our 13 year old are travelling to LHR in a fortnight.

We all hold Australian e-passports and can use the e-gates here in Oz.

Can anyone advise whether the 13yr old can use the e-gates at LHR? I know we adults can, but cannot find any information on under 18s.

Thanks

Yes.

The gates can be used by those aged 18 and over, and who are travelling using a biometric or ‘chipped’ passport. Those aged 12 to 17, and who are accompanied by an adult, are also able to use them.

Do you have high status or premium travel?

When I entered the UK in early Nov, I was going to use the e-gates, but ended up going to the fast track because it was much faster. (5 people in the fast track line vs 100 in the e-gate line)

We are traveling premium. Will definitely keep your suggestion in mind though. Thanks
