Interesting read from onemileatatime: The Ultimate Flight Attendant Power Trip - One Mile at a Time

Apparently the passenger and cabin crew member entered a revolving door at an airport at the same time, with the crew member feeling she was 'cut-off' by the passenger. The crew member had the passenger banned from the flight. The airline has admitted fault.

Perhaps more interesting is the comments section. A pilot openly admits he removed a passenger from a flight because a passenger and FA had just gone through a divorce and custody battle. The FA did not believe she could function with her ex on board.

The husband had booked the flight through pure coincidence.

Sounds vindictive and unnecessary, and not a good look for the airline.

Very poor form on the FA's part, very unprofessional and definitely reflects badly on the airline. I hope that the particular FA receives proper re-training or some lessons on telling the differences between a threat to safety and personal hate, the later is very unprofessional, I doubt someone "cutting in" would affect how they perform their job.

In all respect to the crew, they sometimes need to make vital decisions, however this particular case is just ridiculous.

Immediate dismissal is the only appropriate remedy.

Probably not a lawful remedy though, unless there was an element of dishonesty.
But I agree it was very bad behaviour and deserves a serious response.

Very poor behaviour from the flight attendant if indeed we have the correct information. And simply not good enough. I wouldn't want this flight attendant to be making crucial decisions regarding my safety as they clearly have no idea.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a clause in the contract against bringing the company into disrepute.

There would be but I doubt this would qualify.
