buy/ purchase points

has anyone done it? PM me if you don't want to add to the thread?

i'm taking a look at the current offers to buy miles vs just buying from AMEX (not currently interested in taking a hit on the credit report and applying for a new card)

seems to make OK sense to just buy MR points convert to SQ and not bother with the AA/United etc offers

any thoughts?

It really depends on what the nett cost per point you get in the end and how that compares with other methods.

Would probably be cheaper to pay cash for the flight than buy MR points through Amex.
