Checking my kids QFF accounts, they have 4300 points each, that were earned in December.

I was going to consolidate them into my account, but they don't qualify as the minimum transfer is 5000 points.

Would it be possible for me to transfer 5000 points to my children's account, and then transfer 9300 back into my own account? For all three children?

The alternatives - getting them EDR accounts - seems tedious, but I'm concerned that as we're no due to do any flying, eventually these points will vapourise.

Or is there another solution?

Yes it should work, but I believe you may only be able to make 1 transfer? in a period. So you can only do it to one account probably.

Hope you need some toasters.

Send the points in a chain... your account -> child A -> child B -> child C -> child ... -> your account. At least this way you will only use up 1 transfer in your account.

You can make up to four transfers (each of up to 100k) in any 365 day period.

As indicated by madrooster, "daisy chain" them.

You 5k -> child 1; 9.3k -> child 2; 13.6k -> child 3; 17.9k -> you.

That's a good point. I had thought, incorrectly, it was 4 transfers per year out of an account, but no restriction on receiving transfers.

But that is correct ...

... by daisy chaining, the OP can still make a further 3 transfers within the next 365 days should they have the need.

Just build the last account to an amount suitable for a redemption like 18k and the points don't need to end up in your account.
You would book out of his/hers account.

Ah, very good suggestions and news!

I hadn't thought of daisy chaining - I have enough to cover 5k into each account (I'm actually lowly NB, but flush with points from spending and harvesting off credit cards thanks to the clever folk here (!) )

I feared it may be 1 year before I could reverse the "sweep" back into my own account. But daisy chaining seems to be the logical way to resolve it.

Thanks very much everyone.

I've done this with 1 family account. Transferred 5k in, then transferred 8k back to myself. All done within 5 mins, easy

Yep and I have done the sweep method to mop up <5K points in a number of family accounts (orphaned as most are now on family pooling).
