I have a one-way flight on hold, booked on aa.com. The fine print says I need to be a resident of the US. "If you are not a resident of the U.S., U.K., Canada or select countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, tickets must be purchased at an American Airlines ticketing location/airport, or by calling an American Airlines International Reservations office." Will this be a problem when I try to pay with an Australian credit card? Or, worse, when I try to check in?

I can guarantee at checkin they will only be concerned that the ticket is valid  and that you have the proper passport or visa to enter Australia (and any intermediate countries)

There are plenty of threads dealing with the Australia CC alternatives/subterfuges... So should not be a problem.

Happy wandering
