Hi i'm thinking the answer to this question is you can't, or need to call.

I've decided to book my next OS holiday myself. Travel agents are hopeless these days. I just jumped onto the Qantas site and found return airfares from CBR-FRA for less than the travel agent. But i want to go to Bucharest, which i can get to on Malev via Budapest. Fares seem cheap ($200) but thought I might try booking an award flight. Problem is I can do Frankfurt to Budapest, but not Franfurt to Bucharest (via Budapest).

This is probably normal, but i'd have thought i could book any flight as an award on the oneworld network......

Same thing happened to me trying to book FRA-BEY (which isn't noted as a destination on the QF website) on Malev. I just called Qantas and they found it no worries. I guess they just only put the most common cities as bookable online.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Did they charge you a booking fee as well?

Given the cost of the flight, i may just pay for it seperately, although I think its 0.3 point per mile for discount economy!!
Not sure on my final itinerary right now anyway.

No idea, as I didn't end up booking it. I imagine you could make a good case for not paying it, and the operator didn't mention I would have to.

The award was 22.5K points plus $170 in taxes. The full fare is $363. Not worth it to me...!
