Booked a JASA now one of the flights have been downgraded to 717 and in X class

Hi Guys,

Booked a JASA MEL-PER-KTA, have now seen on my bookings page that QF1000 has turned into QF1900 and downgraded to a 717.

Before I ring QF and have a winge, what are my options? Will they compensate me points wise for the downgrade or just a travel voucher?.

Would they let me fly via Sydney so MEL-SYD-PER-KTA and then in J the whole way or is that a too much to ask question?

Actually a pain in the but they don't offer J on the direct SYD-KTA flight, otherwise could just take that mind you the thought of 5.5hrs in a 737 makes me shudder!

Im assuming it was the PER-KTA option.. So i have to ask why would you then ask them to fly mel-syd-perk-kta? For the extra SC's?

Couldn't they just change your PER-KTA to a later 737 service?

Yep, my PER-KTA was downgraded. Just so I can get J all the way, but didn't even think of the SC's! Already had an almost 3hr wait and to go on the next flight after that would be around 5-6hrs in Perth and then I don't think I'd be flying after that long in the Q Pub!!

Was just trying to think up a way to get J all the way without sitting in Perth for hrs on end!

Rang Qantas today and ended up getting MEL-SYD-PER-KTA all in Business class. In the end they couldn't offer me business class all the way unless I took this routing. So ended up with more SC's that what I would have earnt and a few extra points too.

Very happy about it and cost me no extra $ or points. So thanks Qantas Bit of a round about way of getting to KTA especially with a direct flight leaving to KTA from Sydney same time as I go to Perth but no J class on the service, which seems a tad stupid to me as most of the company have to fly J class for that flight length via Perth or direct anyway!
