Bonus United Miles - Up to 75%

Yet I only got a 50% offer when going through the united page so I'm only eligible for that?

I'm interested at 75% but not 50% !

Same here... 50% bonus for purchases above 20,000 miles. I probably would have bought some miles if they'd offered 75%!

I was offered 75% bonus and my daughter received the 50% offer. Still not as good as the "award accelerator" available from my Mileage Plus bookings (2 US cents per mile, including taxes).

Checking my records it seems the last 100% mileage bonus was in May 2016. That would seem to fit nicely with the end of this promo. Might be worth waiting to see if something better comes along.

At 50% or 75% bonus it's not such good value unless you specifically want to travel on Air China, or want a longer layover en route (UA for example will allow longer stops in BKK if flying AU-Asia whereas LM offers direct connections).

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I am new to United miles..

On a basic level, am I right to assume, based on reading some of these threads that should I receive 75% or 100% bonus option it is as easy as buying and redeeming online.

The website appears pretty easy to book awards. I am only saying this as LM has been difficult in the past. A small premium in points costs on UA vs frustration in using LM website etc etc

I find the website very easy and 10x better than LM. In terms of bonus though - I'll only buy at 100% or if the USD/AUD is really great.

Thanks hummel.. appreciate your input

I just did not want to be the newbie making a monumental error thinking it was all too easy...

I just signed up to Mileage Plus and was offered a 50% bonus. Does anyone know if this is the max to a new customer? I would take the 75% offer right now as I have a trip in mind in July.

It depends on what you want it for - I purchased and obtained F rtn SYD-SEA for just over $2K which is great value.

How was this possible?

A good question. By my calculations, $2000 AUD buys you about 75,000 mileage plus miles. SYD to USA in F class saver appears to be 130,000 miles each way. I must be missing something.

Perhaps SEA = south east Asia not Seattle as some may be thinking?

Bonus United Miles - Up to 100%

This is back for 4 days, up to 100%.My offer was 75% this time...

I didn't get any mention of up to 100% - just a flat tiered bonus depending on number of miles purchased...

Buy 5,000 - 14,000 miles | Get 1,000 – 2,800 bonus miles
Buy 15,000 - 29,000 miles | Get 6,000 – 11,600 bonus miles
Buy 30,000 - 90,000 miles | Get 20,000 – 60,000 bonus miles

This reflects the offer from UA and also Expertflyer (who I don't subscribe to, so the details of the offer weren't specific to me)

My calculations give USD2,472.50 - so yes, it looks correct.

Keep in mind that you'll also need to pay any taxes.
