On Monday I flew PER-ADL and loaded my boarding pass to me Apple Wallet as per normal.

On my return on Wednesday the pass would not load on to the Wallet App from the Qantas App. I asked at the lounge for a printed boarding pass and mentioned to the lounge staff that I was unable to load the BP to my Wallet. They informed me that Qantas no longer supported the transfer from the QF App to Apple Wallet and everyone needed to use the QF App.

I did mention that I had heard of BPs disappearing from the QF App if a flight is delayed and was told that they are well aware of this and were working on a fix. Interestingly we were slightly delayed and I saw 2 pax leaving the boarding queue to the desk as they could not get their boarding pass to appear. Small sample size but there you are.

Cheers

I flew on Wednesday also and had all manner of problems loading my boarding pass into Wallet from the Qantas App. In the end I logged into the full Qantas web site & it loaded from there just fine.

I've had problems in the past loading the BP into Wallet - I usually get onto my secondary mobile and load it from there (wallet shared across the two phones). I wonder if - despite the Lounge person's assertions - this was just another example of this intermittent issue? To my mind, would be another "enhancement" to disallow the loading of the BP to Wallet.

Regards,

BD

It's a bit wonky. Works most of the time but not all of the time.

Has been for ages.

But it worked for me a few days ago.

It may be worth screenshotting the BP (for the just in case)?

It didn’t work for me on the 20th transferring from the app but when I received the text it was able to transfer to the wallet.
I now try and get a print out in case of the phone going flat.

I put in a complaint a few days ago and got a call back from Qantas saying they released a patch to fix the bug. Will test in a few days.

In the past, when ever I put a QF BP QR code onto my smartphone's home page, it used to stick there.
Not an apple device though.
That was maybe earlier in the year.
Now, even if I put my QF BP QR code photo onto the home screen, it keeps disappearing, and when it comes to close to the boarding time at the QF gate at which time i need it, the screen is always blank.
I think that from the beginning of this year to now, they (QF) made a change somewhere in their systems that requires you to have wifi at all times, can't turn it off to save battery life or for any reason.
I have had to go into my QFF account, check in again, and have the QR code sent to phone again, guess what, yep, it again disappeared.
Got so sick and tired of it, that in the end, went the service desk to get a printed BP.
I will be printing my QF BP from now.
On the other side of the coin, the VAd BP has always stuck, to the home screen, even as of this past Sunday.
