BNE to Vegas with LA stop over - points?

Looking at booking a BNE to Vegas trip on points, but would like to know if I can do a stop over in LA for the same points total?

I suspect no stopover without significantly increasing points cost as it becomes two awards.

Fares between LAS & LAX are generally quite inexpensive.

You might look at two one ways - BNE-LAX (or BNE-LAS) & LAS-BNE (or LAX-BNE) and buy a commercial fare between LAX & LAS.

I always book this direct to LAX, then seperate ticket on Delta in first class for the LAX/LAS flights. 40 status credits each way at a reasonable price if booked a couple of months out
