Hi all,

I recently booked a Qantas flight from CBR - DEL with a 5 hour layover in Bangkok (BKK). All booked through Qantas, with the final leg of BKK - DEL being a codeshare operated by Jet Airways.

According to the Qantas site, the Qantas affiliated lounge is the Louis Tavern Lounge on Concourse G. However, when I arrived there and displayed my QC card and QF boarding pass, I was informed that I needed to visit the Air France-KLM Lounge on Concourse F because it was a Jet Airways flight and not a Qantas flight. Upon arriving at the Air France-KLM lounge, I was told that because Jet Airways is now an Etihad Partner Airline, I needed to visit the Miracle First Class Lounge on Concourse D. When I arrived there, they directed me back to Louis Tavern on G saying that they are the Qantas Club affiliated lounge.

I eventually went back to Louis Tavern, used my Priority Pass access and coughed up USD25 for the lounge. Reading the Eligibility and Access section of the Qantas Club site - I believe I should have been permitted access to the Louis Tavern for free. Is this accurate, or am I completely on the wrong track?

Sounds like you were on the right track, assuming you had a QFxx_ flight #?

But what was on your boarding pass? The QF number is Jet airways number. But otherwise yeah agree you should have got in for free.

Boarding pass was a Qantas boarding pass with the flight number being QF3963.

The first lounge on our list is one we suggest you skip, unless you're a Qantas Club member – in which case it's the only airport lounge at Bangkok that'll let you through the door.

The Louis’ Tavern CIP Lounge at Concourse G (near gate G2) is the lounge to which Qantas steers all eligible passengers ahead of flight QF24.

Although when flying out of BKK recently the agent wrote "Emirate Lounge" on the QF24 boarding pass.

Wow - I didn't think Emirates accepted QC membership anymore. Is that a one-off, or have other people experienced this too?

I'm not QC. Just commented as it's interesting they would overtly point to a different lounge when they're supposed to be directing all pax to the CIP Lounge.

That includes business class passengers; Gold, Platinum and Platinum One frequent flyers; Qantas Club members, and travellers holding Oneworld Emerald and Sapphire status with any other Oneworld airline.

The QF/9W codeshare from BKK were only put in place fairly recently, prior to that 9W from BKK were only interline.
I would suggest sending feedback to QF so they can make the lounge aware.

It may have been a QF boarding pass but the flight number on it is always that of the operating carrier ie 9Wxx_. There should be a comment however on the boarding pass that says "sold as QF3963" which is what lounges rely on for lounge access purposes.
