Yeah, 35kg is a potential death sentence to anyone it falls on below & I'm not just talking about while in flight. How many times have you seen the scenario where we're all pulling our bags from the overhead & one falls from someones grasp?
I switched to a pc bag that looks slim & carrying a second bag to carry the books or bottles of water I take from the QP. Much easier. Even with nothing checked in you can do it smarter. The bags that QF sell are meant to be pretty good. I think thadocta has one that has been mentioned elsewhere.

I've been using the Plat FF bag for around a year, and it's great.

Easily carries Laptop & accessories, Novel, notebooks, thin ring-binder, spare socks/ laces/ underwear, 750ml water bottle, latest issue of "Soldier of Fortune", as well as misc stationery & other gear.

Sorry but you didnt read my post correctly. The 45 kg was not in an overhead locker but in the locker in the front of business class downstairs on a 747.We had noted this on the flight to Bali hence had intended to try and use this on flight back.Would have allowed bag to be checked if was refused as it was obviously not going in an overhead locker.

Oh yeah.
OK I'm guilty of just reading the last post. Phew :? , didn't someone frown/grimace when they picked up 45kg?
If the FA didn't pick it up, then all points to the actor that didn't look like it weighed the ton or so it was.

Guess whos back....

Funny how I can go away, leave you to your b*itching and moaning - give you what you want and come back to find that you've been talking about me. And not in a nice way either.
Lets go as far to say that in my absence, you have taken it upon yourselves to point out exactly where you think I went wrong.
Well, nothing I have said in my emails is incorrect.
As for a Platinum member checking in at First Class, well this is completely different to a Qantas Club economy passenger checking it at Business Class. Why? Because Platinum members have presidence over everyone. This is why they act like they own a little peice of the airline. And before you get all upset, its true. And probably rightfully so considering the amount of flying you have to do to get there.
I put this to you, if you don't like Qantas so much and you think that the service stinks and the baggage restrictions are unfair and the aircraft isn't up to scratch - fly with someone else! The reason companies like Qantas don't have to worry about websites like this where everyone gets together and pulls apart every aspect of the airline in a negative way is because no-one will actually do anything about it. Qantas holds 35% of the International market, do you think that they care??

And secondly, every single person on this forum who has written in response to any of my posts (pm not am haha original!) you have tried to take the higher ground on me, calling me a nasty trouble maker, an idiot and whatever other thing you cleverly made up yourselves yet your here writing posts on a website breeding negativity and directing nasty thoughts and experiences on a message board to one another.

Just to prove your ignorance, I have mentioned that I was female yet you have all continually referred to me as a he.... I guess to people like you, this kinda of detail really isn't that important.

Dazzler, you really know how to kill a discussion. If you think the site is too negative - go somewhere else :!:

Yes, I agree. The debate seemed to be going along on a bit of a tangent but nevertheless was relevant to the thread. We had our comments to make about people who overload the bins etc and seemed to be talking about matters that pertain to this thread.

Then...........along comes Dazzler to once again moan about how she has been treated. How strange, how emotive how.......oh of course, how typical of a woman....PMS??

Dazzler,
If you have been a check in clerk with QF (or an employee of QF in any other department), sorry, you are taking this too personally. If you go through the threads, there were many good things written about check-in clerks and you will know how many die-hard QF flyers in this thread (though I am not one of them).

If not - it just means (at least to me) that you just love getting in to endless arguements.

Well, I think it is time for me to move on.

I, also, have been a check-in droid for Qantas. I have also been a reservations droid for Qantas. I know what I am talking about (unlike Dazzler.

From http://www.qantas.com.au/info/flying/qantasClub/benefits

To help avoid queues, members may use The Qantas Club priority check-in areas available at most airports. If there is no dedicated Qantas Club check-in, you may check in at the Business Class counter prior to any Qantas flight, regardless of your fare class. You must be travelling on a Qantas operated service with a Qantas flight number.

So there is no problem with checking in at a J class counter when travelling in steerage, provided there is no dedicated QC counter. Since the dedicated QC counters are opened and closed throughout the day, it is quite possible that the QC counter was closed due to low demand, therefore the QC member was fully entitled to check in at the J counter.

Yet another shining example of how Dazzler seems to be nothing more than a silly little child who hasn't got a clue.

I think its time to close this thread.

Over the last 4 months some useful information has been shared. However, given some of the recent postings I have a concern that it may degenerate into an unconstructive flamming forum. This would be a shame as it would detract from the purpose of this forum, the high quality of 99% of the postings, and the value of our online community

Thank you all for your input and lets get back to being constructive, please.
