Best ways to use Amplify points

I have the Bank of Melbourne amplify card (non-qantas) and am unsure how to get the best value from my points.

e.g. I need to fly to mel<->brisbane in october, is it worth using them for a velocity economy redemption?

Or perhaps I should redeem them for gift cards?

I’ve never seen good value in gift cards. Depending on how many points you have, you could get to Brisbane for $29 in business class. I think that’s good value, but everyone values a point differently.
