With all the recent changes I thought it might be helpful to list this in this new thread.

You can generate Krisflyer miles from Cards, converting Velocity points and flying so I am only referring to card generated miles and Velocity conversions.

I have an ANZ Black rewards card which on my calc shows Visa 0.417 miles per $1 and Amex at 1.0 miles per $1. (Velocity makes 0.625 velocity Point per $1 Visa and 1.5 Velocity Points on Amex per $1, which converted ( no 15% extra points promo- twice per year) gives 0.463 Miles on Visa and 1.11 on Amex ( @1:1.35 conversion)

I have Altitude Black and post 28/9/16 conversion rates on my calc M/C .05 Miles per $1 and 1.2 miles per $1 for Amex (Velocity makes 0.625 velocity Point per $1 Visa and 1.5 Velocity Points on Amex per $1, which converted ( no 15% extra points promo- twice per year) gives 0.463 Miles on Visa and 1.11 on Amex ( @1:1.35 conversion)

I have a Citi Signature Visa card that makes an equivalent of 0.5625 Krisflyer miles

Happy for others to check the above and add their other cards to generate krisflyer miles, thanks

I still have my Westpac Krysflyer at 1.25 points and with the Altitude Black devaluation will probably move back to using that.

Aside from that Amex Platinum Edge for supermarket spend (3 points/$ including a whole bunch of giftcards you can use elsewhere, 4 ppd if you are Local Champion) and 2ppd for fuel spend (or 3 if Local Champion).

Thanks Burmans pickings are getting thin.

I will move 50% of my ALtitude bank to SG and the balance to CX programs later this month before devaluation

I've applied and been approved for the new Amex Explorer card.

Looks like it'll earn an effective 1.5KF/$ on all spend.

Not quite:
  • Earn 2 Membership Rewards points[SUP]3[/SUP] per $1 spent on all purchases except government bodies in Australia where you will earn 0.5 points per $1 spent
  • Certain transactions will earn 0.5 points per dollar with Merchants classified as; “government”, including the Australian Taxation Office, the Australian Postal Corporation (Australia Post), federal/state and local government bodies.

yep, just applied for the same.

so far was using the citi prestige (or signature)

So it seems for those who want KF points, it's worth cancelling the Westpac Black and switching to the new Amex Explorer ?

Correct. My amex main card is WBC black , visa/mc will be stgeorge amplify ( this also earns ATO ).
In 2-3 weeks time I will change to amex explorer ( will keep WBC black as part of mortgage ).

FYI: stgeorge amplify ( this also earns ATO ). recent reports said Do not put too much ATO on this cards, st george might suspends your cards. So far I have been buying view thousands https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/262613 and I use it to pay ATO. Just to keep low profile from the Bank.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Diners Club is also a (less popular) possibility 1.5 KF/$ with 0.625/$ on the companion MC.
