And some oneworld airlines given relationships with CZ and MU.

To date
BA - Daily service moves to PKX from 28Oct
AY - New 3/wk to PKX from 3Nov, daily to PEK
MH - Daily service moves to PKX from 31Dec
On other forums it's expected that AA and at least some CX/KA services will move.

QF (and indeed QR and S7) less certain as other Chinese airports provide better connections to more of China (although same applies to MH)

Meh. Lipstick on a pig, IMO. Just a different place for the confluence of the (mostly) same terrible airlines, terrible pax, and a generally terrible travel experience.

Interesting comment - terrible pax? Care to enlighten exactly which pax you consider terrible?

Sure - you know how the Japanese are famed for their polite, considerate and ordered behaviour? You know how pretty much everyone who has ever written about travel in Japan says everything is efficient and clean? And how everyone lines up politely and follows signs and is generally considerate of the people around them? Well, China is basically the opposite of all of that! My opinion of course... but my worst airport experiences have all been in China.

So China’s unique totally disorganized mayhem as opposed to Japan’ s efficient orderly way of life is what concerns you? Crikey I thought for a minute I was reading that you were a racist towards the Chinese people in general - I am glad that is not the case. 👍

I'm glad you approve.
It is interesting (although not unexpected) how you did jump straight to the "race" thing.... people seem to be really sensitive about criticism of China...

If someone says "Wow American tourists are so annoying" , no one cares. Lots of people would probably say "yeah those yanks are so loud" or something. And the Americans themselves wouldn't care either. When someone says to me "Aussies in Bali are feral bogans" I don't care nor take offence.

But if I swap "American" or "Aussie" with "Chinese", suddenly it is a totally different thing. Which makes no sense, right? Unfortunately many Australians are too afraid to say what they think in case they are called "racist"! But in reality, as anyone with half a brain knows, is that China is far more racist than Australia or any other western country, really. The Chinese government engages in the suppression and oppression of ethnic minorities, among other things...

Happy Friday!

And glad you have clarified - last thing we want is anybody thinking we are racist towards any of our fellow human beings just because they have slightly different customs, beliefs and way of life. Clearly I must only have half a brain as I have witnessed zero racism towards me in my 100’s of trips to China over last 20 years.

Also interesting that you have swung your criticicism of the ‘terrible pax’ now to the ‘terrible Govt’ - but still pleasing and positive to not that you are not racist towards the Chinese pop in general. 👍

So China’s unique totally disorganized mayhem ...

It is unique. I am fine with totally disorganized mayhem, I go to India enough to cope with that, disorganized mayhem in it's pure unadulterated form. My problem with China, is that half the people behave in an orderly way and the other in a completely (what we would call rude) chaotic manner, and you never know where you stand. In any case, it's all part of the fun of travel really. 😁

Some may call it rude - I call it hilarious and at times downright annoying - but people like me with half a brain quickly realise ‘when in Rome’ - all part of the fun and rich tapestry of life!

Compared to you I’m still a China newbie with only about a dozen trips there but I can honestly say I’ve never had a truly bad experience there. Sure it can be chaotic and delays at the airport are unfortunately quite common but hey it’s all part of the experience.
I’ve got my parents hooked on China aswell now, they were very hesitant at first to visit but tagged along with us a few years ago and loved it that much they return regularly. They are off again in a fortnight for trip number 14 to China and they are both in their 70’s!

I'm flying SQ into T3 Capital Airport next month, thinking about heading out there to take a look, but it's a long way to go for a stickybeak! Will take the pressure off T1 & T2, which are usually a bit of a fight to get through (as noted above). I guess it is going to be more of a Hongqiao, with the major internationals staying at the Captial Airport. Not sure what lounge facilities CA would have available for their limited domestic routes out of Daxing, although the lounge experience is not usually the highlight of the trip in China! :)

A quick question....

Does China have a world-class airline to go with their (alleged) world-class airport? No one seems to talk about their airlines with any kind of enthusiasm...

And.... just to totally close down the hysterical racist rant some people seem to be having....

I love HKG & CX (probs my fav airport and airline)
I love HND & JL
I love SIN and SQ

Anyone with half a brain would know that all 3 of those places are in Asia.... HKG is almost (literally) China....

So dislike of China <> racist.
Just like dislike of Israel <> racist (although heaps of people will try it on - so be careful with this one!)

Well if you take the Chinese governments point of view as to what is China, one if it’s renegade provinces has at least 1 world class airline (BR) if not 2 (CI as well) ;) :p

I really liked MF and would definitely fly with them again likewise HU. CZ can be hit or miss, had some excellent flights with them but also some average ones. CA is probably the only one I’d go out of my way to avoid

They'll also tell you that KE and VN are actually theirs too! :p
