Would it be possible to order a platinum card then go into the store and reorder another one because the first one never arrived. Then activate both when they arrive?



I would say this is definitely possible. When I first opened my account over 2 years ago and before I had even thought of using it for micro payments, the original card took a long time to arrive at the branch (I had chosen to have it delivered there) so they ordered another one. When I eventually picked up the card there were two waiting for me. Obviously they didn't give me both cards but to this day they are both visible in my internet banking. I just don't have all the details of the first card to be able to activate and use it. If you told them you haven't received your card in the mail they may well just order another without cancelling the old one. Let us know how you go.
 
They can see if they go and look at your cards.

But for branch staff going from normal -> plat is a sale so helps them meet KPIs so they don't care. They might just submit the request though without checking cards. BW have quite old systems like most banks.

If you've got one card and upgrading to platinum and you are worried they'll cancel your original just wait ages, 2-3 weeks or so before activating it. This doesn't apply to you of course, I'm not sure I'd risk another card. I won't even risk 3 but then I've got 3 accounts all with 2 cards (so 6 cards) plus my partner has an account with 2 cards so we rake in the points now. I'm considering trying to score a second account for my partner but it is risky.



Yep it's definitely risky which is why I have just stuck to the 4 cards for the last 18 months. My wife only has 2 on her account and currently sits with the standard account so we may try our luck and ask for an upgrade.


What I'm also wondering is whether these additional cards will be picked up once they reach expiration. My first card expires in March next year. Is the replacement process automatic with other cards not being affected or is there the chance when the new card is sent out they will cancel all the others? Hopefully it's the former and when they send out the new card a month prior to expiry I will temporarily have a 5th card working.

I would think this would be highly unlikely to work. As soon as the bank employee hears the first card hasn't arrived, they would cancel that card to reduce the chance that someone else has your card...
 
Funny you should say that because I ordered one card from one branch. Waited for like a week only to find out the card wasn't ordered. Went into another branch and ask for an upgrade and the lady just went ahead and ordered another one. I believe as long as you don't activate it's fine to go to another brach and request an upgrade to your account. Bankwest will issue you a new card.
 
pity the likes of voda, optus or virgin dont work. Feels quite restrictive to be telstra only but really shouldn't complain :)

I think the OP was referring to TELLING BW the card had not arrived. If you tell them this they will probably just cancel but not necessarily if you don't tell them.

Also for any EnergyAustralia people, although we've known for a while now that the $0.01s no longer work, there is now specific wording on their payment page that says minimum payment is $0.10 :)
 
I notice someone mentioned they had opened multiple accounts. Are we allowed to open multiple accounts? If yes, why worry about trying to get multiple cards on one account if we can just open many accounts with different cards?
 
10 cents is a bit rich if that's the case. Unless your utility bills mount to that much per month.

Yea sorry I think I kind of placed a misleading smiley there. I didn't mean it specifically as a positive. I meant "that's the nail in the coffin" i.e. really confirming it is the end of using EA!
 
OMG! Points came through. Loving this nifty little point harvesting.

My points also come through for this for May today around 10h30 am abit earlier than last month . However my partner account points doesn't come throught today . Log in and check the last e-statement on her account is on 31 May and showing no points accrued which is the same as my account different is i received another e-statement on 2 June which showing points for the full month of May .

Question is look like she will received another e-statement in few days time . how long she have to wait until the point post to QF account or she need to wait until 5 July to get 2 months worths of points post together

Each statement recieved per month is just due to auto printing/online. Once it reaches maby 10 pages, a new statement is issued.

To answer the question: Points transferred every 30 days ish. 5th day of each month (excluding public hol, weekends, computer breakdowns, or any other excuse that can occur!

Statement received 31 May show points balance = 0
Statement received 2 June show full point for May = 6950 points .

Right on time for 5 June transfer . ( my partner acc havent received new statement for June which explain 0 points being transfer on 5 June . )

It look like she have to wait until next transfer which will happen on 5 July unless BW do another transfer batch for sometimes after 5 June which i dont think it will happen .
