Unfortunately (or otherwise) I haven't flown J on Air Koryo. So I'm not in a position to give an accurate opinion!

Have you flown Air Koryo? From what others have told me, it's not that bad...

I haven't flown either (yet) but am booked to go J on BA next year [shudders].

I have however watched Youtube videos about both classes and I known enough to know that I don't like flying/riding backwards or looking at a stranger face on during a flight.

Well one perhaps would expect a better attitude from staff on balance with Air Koryo, as a misstep would of course reflect badly on the DPRK and the staff could end up ... well I shudder to think.

I voted for Air Koryo, but have not flown them. BA isn't that bad... so long as your expectations are pretty low!

Air Koryo has one other thing going for it. Its livery looks more like Retrotoo!

BA's business class is perfectly fine! You only face a stranger for a very short period of the flight (until wheels-up) and even before then it's hardly noticeable. The window seats are very private, and sitting backwards actually produces a very comfortable bed with your head in a slightly elevated position due to the nose-up attitude of the plane (preferable for me than having my feet above my head!). The seats themselves are well padded and super comfortable. Selecting a window seat at the bulkhead means direct aisle access and a private cocoon once in the air. The food is good as is the service. No cubby holes for your feet. No slanted seats to the side where you're looking over your neighbour. No coffin boxes for your legs. The seat has plenty of upsides.

There are some youtubers out there critical of BA's busines class, but that's because they don't have the knowledge to select the best seats.

Bulkhead windows! Private cocoon, direct aisle access. (Or if the flight's not full, snag a pair of dual centre seats for your own private mini-suite.)

Just looking on Seatguru now. I take it you mean seats A14 or K14 at the back of Club World (I'll be flying BA32 HKG-LHR).

For the 777 showing, yes, 14A/K. Fairly limited compared to the A380/747 which usually have more bulkheads available.

I understand that British are getting new seats next year. I hope they outfit the planes running between HKG and LHR early in the year. I also hope the new seats face the right way.

Have you tried rear facing seats? Other than take-off there's barely any noticeable difference. And much better from a safety perspective :)

I hate facing the wrong way on trains so had some trepidation -- okay, prejudice -- about my rear-facing seat on Etihad. It felt a bit weird during take-off and landing but the rest of the trip felt no different to facing forward.

Same layout and the changes are more like refinements than an all new seat.

Perhaps but I did see it suggested that they might go to a 1-2-1 layout. If they faced the window seats forward that would be good.

I think it will be 16A and 16K on the BA32 service. On the 380's 53A and 53K and 59A & 59K are much sought after. 53A is my go to if I have the misfortune to be in J. Pretty much first off the plane.

I agree with @MEL_Traveller if you get a window seat and particularly one with aisle access it is not a bad hard product. The bed is one of the more comfortable out there. Service can be variable in the extreme. Some of the mixed fleet crews can be very poor and appear to suffer from a lack of training IMO.
