Hi,
I am gonna take an BA flight (discount Y) soon and as the milage earn rate with QF is only 0.25 while 1.00 with AA, I was thinking of crediting my miles to AA instead (not too interested in these status credits).
However, I would still like to use my QF SG benefits, e.g. baggage allowance, lounge and ideally keep the exit row seat I have preselected due to my status.

I have heart one way to achieve this would be checkin in and call the airline after lounge-entry that you would like to remove one number and add the other. Unfortunately I would lose my preselected seat for the return leg then AFAIK. I think I have heart that by calling an airline you can also ask to put two different frequent flyer numbers on a booking, one for status, one for earning. However, I forgot how it was called (some 4-letter abbreviations) and I am not sure if that a *A thing, or whether it works with OW as well.

Edit: I think I have found the answer here: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....sion/ff-benefits-without-having-ff-34862.html

Changing numbers in the lounge is the way to go; just change one leg at a time to avoid losing your seats. No need to change the inbound at the same time as the outbound.

You can try the FQTV/FWTS thing, but you'll have to find a great agent who know what they are doing.

Baggage allowance is not a general OneWorld benefit, so do not expect to receive any additional baggage allowance, nor priority baggage. Those benefits will only relate to the FF program in the booking at check-in time.

Seat assignment will remain unless there is something like an aircraft change.

Priority check-in and lounge access should be ok by showing your QFF card.

Changing FF numbers in the booking can result in confusion by the systems and crediting to the wrong program, so be careful and understand and accept the risks. Personally, I don't play those risks and on enter the FF number/program to which I want to credit, then show the card of the other program for things like lounge access. But even then be careful that the "helpful" lounge or check-in agent does not change it for you without your requesting it to be changed.

Actually, additional luggage is now a Oneworld benefit for emeralds.

Extra baggage allowance

As an Emerald frequent flyer you can check in one additional bag for free in addition to your ticketed baggage allowance when you fly on oneworld airlines. If your ticket mentions a weight allowance, you can check in an extra 20kgs (44lbs). (This benefit is not available on British Airways 'Hand Baggage Only' fares on select short-haul routes.)
Emerald privileges - oneworld

(bit of a moot point as the OP appears to be SG).

awesome, I didnt knew you could change the FF number just for a single leg, thanks for the tip.

Regarding baggage, I know its not a general OW benefit, but most airlines in Europe/USA (only tried AA/BA/AY so far) seem to give you the same benefits as their own tier, including priority baggage.
