Flying from SYD-SIN on BA and departing the next day 7am from SIN-KUL on 3K. I would like to get some Zs in at the Ambassador Transit Hotel airside but the problem is that I have checked luggage. I saw JohnK saying that you can just leave your luggage and it'll go to 'lost and found' and you can retrieve it when you go check-in. 3K doesn't have early check-in after 9PM and BA16 arrives 9:45PM so I wouldn't be allowed back into airside since I don't have BPs. Is 'leaving it to the keepers' still a safe method?

Yes!

This is perfectly acceptable, and in fact recommended by Changi Airport.

The Ambassador hotel advises you to proceed directly to their hotel - do not pass immigration and do not collect your bags.

On arrival, you go to the hotel and your bags will be taken off the reclaim by left luggage and securely stored. The next morning you present your ID, collect your bags, and check-in for your 3K flight.

The only advisory is that you need to ensure you use the immigration hall of your arriving flight in order to collect your bags. There are three arrivals halls, one for each terminal. But your bags will be at the reclaim for the terminal you arrived at. So if the transit hotel you choose is a different terminal, you'll have to go back to the one you arrived at. If you exit via the wrong immigration hall, it's obviously going to be difficult to get back to claim your bags (although i suspect it happens and there must be some procedure in place to handle it, but perhaps time consuming).

I've done the left luggage many times. Never an issue. Just make sure you allow time for immigration... while usually it's fairly quick, at peak times there can be a wait up to 30 minutes. So factor that in. I'd say if you left the transit hotel about 2-2.5 hours before the 3K departure you'd have more than enough time.

As per MEL_Traveller's post you will be OK.

SIN airport is very quiet ~4:00am-4:30am and if you go and collect luggage at that time and proceed to check-in the you should be fine.
