I'm about to book a flight for my self and friend on Singapore airlines my friend is not a member of Krisflyer, will I be eligible for award points for the two of us or just myself, since I will be paying all the fare with my CC card. Also with the free travel insurance connected with my card will we both be covered, or just myself, they are not a family member.
Cheers

Apologies - read it incorrectly thinking this was an award ticket. As per n7of9, points will only be awarded to yourself.

You will need to add your friend down as a nominee. Go to this page and scroll down to 'Use your miles for people you know' for more information; Redeem miles for award tickets

As for travel insurance from your credit card, check the terms and condition of your credit card. Pretty sure it is for family only.

You will only receive Miles and Status Credits for yourself. They don't care who pays, the points go to to the bum in the seat

Your travel insurance probably will cover both of you, but you should read the PDS to make sure of inclusions (and exclusions, most importantly)

MMMM what a bummer

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

With many FF programs, once earned points/miles can be transferred to another depending on specific criteria that can vary between programs.

You need to check the CC insurance terms and conditions. Often the insurance only covers the card holder and their spouse + immediate family. If it is a friend, even though you paid for their ticket... no coverage. They need to buy their own policy.

If you credit to KrisFlyer you cannot transfer points between accounts. But the OP may be able to select another program to credit the miles which does allow transfers. But often these transfers aren't free. Aegean is a potential program of interest to the OP, allowing a set transaction fee to transfer miles rather than charging on a per mile basis like UA (courtesy of onemileatatime): Aegean Now Lets You Easily Transfer Miles Between Accounts - One Mile at a Time

It sounds like your friend is not a family member but you can receive another's points and status credits if you credit flights to Velocity as part of a Family Pool
