Just wondering with regards to Classic awards, is it always priced per-segment?

Can you accept indirect routing for same/similar price if that is all that is available? (similar manner to AA).

Eg with EK, BKK-DXB not available, but BKK-HKG and HKG-DXB available.

Not sure about INT but on DOM the answer is no.

I've booked ADL-SYD-PER which is less expensive than ADL-SYD and SYD-PER as 2 seperate bookings.
A J redemption, I think it worked out about 10,000 points less.

The indirect routing would be fine. Awards are based on mileage.
