Bearing in mind this does not look at passenger experience, but the financial performance of airlines. It seems that Rex has come in at No. 2 globally on this list. No 1. ranked was the US based Allegiant.

Aviation Week Names Top-Performing Airlines

ANA was the top "major" carrier, and QF ranked 9 in the Asia-Pacific region. The survey seemed to exclude middle eastern carriers.
