Crashed? The Visa 1 cards have been dead for over a week

Yes I am now aware that it no longer works.

However, the ATO portal is not working for me.

I had the same error when applying for an AFP check today. The URL it crashed on was also an Optus Smartpay one. The issue may be with them, not ATO (or it may not...)

Try log into ATO Online and pay with credit card there, worked for me.

I use the Business portal - simply direct me to easy pay.

Try this if you really must pay today (by CC):

Pay by phone
Phone the Government EasyPay service on 1300 898 089.

All went through, but very slowly.
