Lifetime D+ (*G) for 500K - FlyerTalk Forums

OZ has introduced a new D+ which is valid for lifetime. All you have to do is accure 500K (OZ + *A) miles. ^

Benefits:
(1) OZ F lounge + F check-in*
(2) 15% additional flown miles (not EQM)*
(3) 2 x 50% discount OZ mileage upgrade coupons*
(4) 30kg extra luggage allowance*
*only valid when travelling on OZ.

This is the lowest qualification threshold for lifetime *G.

Alternatively, you can fly 500 segments on Asiana.

So all I need to do now is sign up and convince my employer that I need to do 250 trips to Korea.

I don't know how Asiana works but how much harder/easier is this compared ot LTG for QF?

LTG on QANTAS requires 14,000 SCs. Depends on what class and distance you're flying.

e.g. BNE-SIN-FRA in Discount economy earns 70 SCs each way, or 140 SCs return. Fly that return 100 times and you get Lifetime Gold (Oneworld Sapphire).
BNE-SIN-FRA on a mileage earning SQ fare earns 20k miles. Fly that return 25 times and you get Asiana Diamond Plus (Star Alliance Gold).

e.g. BNE-MEL in Discount economy earns 15 SCs each way, or 30 SCs return. 467 times return for Lifetime Gold.
NRT-ICN on Asiana, 250 times return for Asiana Diamond Plus.

QANTAS will probably work out better for Business and First class.

Taxes on redemptions are high on both QANTAS and Asiana, except on USA redemptions...

hmm thanks. Exact info I needed. I just have no idea what the numbers meant.

I wonder if the above announcement has disturbed the Platinum Asiana flyers...

Yep. That's right. Been mentioned on the forum a few times. One of the easiest ways to get and maintain *G.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

But they are not the best for award redemptions either compare to other *A airlines.

They're not fantastic, but I wouldn't describe them as terrible either. They're actually pretty good for *A upgrade awards compared to others.
They also allow quite complex itineraries that are impossible under most other award programs.
Having said that, I do think you need to concentrate a bit more and do a bit more planning to get good value out of them.

The program works really well for me because of its low and flexible status requirements (*G for 40k over two years) and this new Lifetime status tier is a great addition to that. A new target to work towards... :p

SYD-ICN is 5164 miles according to gcmap, so it's a little bit hard to justify the trips after #49. :D
